Shahi Badam Shorba

Serves: 6 Prep. time: 40 minutes Category: Health Food
2  potatoes sliced
200grams white pumkin - lauki sliced
1teacup cabbage sliced
225 grams onions sliced
75 grams almonds roasted
2 teacups low fat milk
  1 bay leaf
1tablespoonfresh cream (optional)
2 tablespoons butter
  salt and pepper to taste
1. Heat the butter and cook the potatoes, pumpkin, cabbage, onions and 3/4 of the almonds on a slow flame till the potatoes are cooked.
2. Add the milk, 3 teacups of water and the bay leaf. Cook for a few minutes and then remove the bay leaf.
3. Blend the mixture in a liquidiser and strain the soup. Boil for 10 minutes.
4. Slice and roast the remaining almonds.

Serving ideas:
Just before serving, add the cream, almonds, salt and pepper to the soup. Serve hot.

Almonds are rich in protein, essential fatty acids, Vitamins B Complex and E and minerals like zinc and copper. While minerals stop falling hair, Vitamin E spur hair growth. Essential fatty acids and Vitamin B Complex lend lustre and bounce to hair.
